Empowering Future Surveyors in Guatemala with GNSS Technology

On August 11, ComNav Technology, together with our local partner in Guatemala,TopGis.shop, brought high-precision GNSS technology training to the Land Management program at the Western Campus of San Carlos University in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.

As the only national public university in Guatemala, San Carlos University has been an important institution for cultivating professional talent. We were honored to receive a warm welcome from university leaders and professors, who shared the university’s history and introduced us to its teaching environment and facilities.

The core of this training focused on static surveying and post-processing workflows.

Our technical team introduced students to practical applications of static measurements and demonstrated field data collection using SinoGNSS T30 and Mars Pro GNSS receivers. Students worked in groups to complete measurements across the campus, experiencing the complete process from field observation to professional data processing.

Back in the classroom, students processed the collected data with Compass Solution software, achieving approximately 1 cm-level positioning accuracy.

For many students, this was more than just a training session — it was their first hands-on experience with professional GNSS equipment and high-precision surveying workflows.

Throughout the event, students showed great enthusiasm, actively participated in discussions, and raised insightful questions about GNSS technology and its applications. This exchange reflects ComNav Technology’s commitment not only to providing advanced positioning solutions, but also to supporting education, knowledge sharing, and the growth of the global surveying community.
