Shanghai, China, Aug 20, 2015 – From 13-14 August, as an important event of Geodesy in Indonesia, the ITB (Institute of Technology, Bandung) 65 years anniversary on Geodesy was held in ITB campus, Bandung. ComNav joined with local distributor Geotronix sponsored this event. During the event, ComNav showcased the T300 GNSS receiver, M300 Pro, M600 and K series OEM board which caught lots of attention from the show. And the booth was always surrounded by the interested visitors. Some clients even wanted to confirm the order for T300 and pay some done payment to order the T300.

As invited by the committee, Andy Yin, the sales director from ComNav did the presentation with the topic of “BeiDou Brought Us in High Precision Applications”. He simply introduced the BeiDou Satellite System and the future development plan, and then shared the advantage and benefits by adding BeiDou with lots of field testing data. Also he gave the application pictures which were motivated by BeiDou in Chinese market. In the end, Andy announced the ComNav Academic Fund Program, with the intention to support the students/researchers to study more about the BeiDou and the high precision GNSS applications. During the event, ComNav and ITB got the agreement to loan the T300 GNSS receiver for the students to learn more about BeiDou.

The session of civil engineering was held in the last day’s afternoon, as the industry partner ComNav was invited to give a short speech about the deformation monitoring system. Andy Yin talked about the applications and expressed ComNav’s willing to supply the technologies for monitoring the dam and volcano in Indonesia. There many volcanoes in Indonesia without any monitoring system, which is likely to threat people’s life and property.

For long time, ComNav is willing to support the institute and universities on researching the GNSS technologies. And it has setup several joint laboratories for GNSS with some famous universities in China and now ComNav is ready to do the same thing internationally, ITB is a good start.

About ITB

The Bandung Institute of Technology or Institute of Technology, Bandung (Indonesian: Institut Teknologi Bandung, abbreviated as ITB) is a state, coeducational research university located in Bandung, Indonesia. Established in 1920, ITB is the oldest technology-oriented university in Indonesia.

ITB was considered the top choice among Indonesia"s high school students in 2006 and has been credited as one of the most "prestigious" universities in Indonesia, together with University of Indonesia, and Gadjah Mada University Sukarno, the first president of the Republic of Indonesia, earned his engineering degree in civil engineering from ITB. More than that, B. J. Habibie, the third president of Indonesia also graduated with engineering degree in mechanical engineering from ITB.

The university cultivates professional and social activities by supporting its students" unions, the student government councils that exist in every department. Each students" union has its own distinctly designed jacket that, among other traditions, serves as part of its member identity. There are also a number of student activity units/clubs supporting ITB student interests in rounding out their educational experience. It is not uncommon that the students and alumni are identified by the clubs to which they belong (or used to belong) at ITB, in addition to their class year and major.
