Today, we are thrilled to announce that with the new firmware update (V620F1 and higher version), PPP functionality is now standard on the K8 series GNSS modules, GNSS receivers and related solutions. This means seamless switching between RTK and PPP is now at your fingertips. Taking it a step further, the new firmware not only supports single correction service PPP but also incorporates PPP and RTK fusion technology (SyncFrame Technology), which integrated the frameworks of the both in real-time, allowing users to transition effortlessly from an RTK solution to a PPP solution and vice versa while maintaining coordinate consistency.

 

1 Technical Principles

RTK typically uses the local reference frame, while PPP often employs the latest ITRF framework. This leads to a coordinate deviation between the two positioning technologies, making it challenging for users to freely switch between RTK and PPP. SyncFrame Technology dynamically calculates and corrects the framework deviation in real-time. When switching from an RTK solution to a PPP solution, automatic calibration occurs by background engine, ensuring PPP outputs results directly in the same framework as RTK. This ensures continuous working even in scenarios with sudden RTK signal interruptions, weak cellular signal strength, or limited radio distance.

n  Global Coverage: Galileo PPP-HAS service covers the globe, while PPP-B2b serves China and surrounding countries.

n  Reliable Accuracy: Tested and validated in multiple countries across the globe, PPP-HAS achieves 20cm (95%) horizontal accuracy, and PPP-B2b achieves 10cm (95%) horizontal accuracy in China and surrounding countries.

n  Free of Charge: PPP-B2b and PPP-HAS are free services provided to end-users.

n  User-Friendly: Base on background computation, the engine doing real-time conversion, no user intervention required.

With traditional surveying and mapping, it is difficult to set up base stations in remote areas such as oceans and deserts. With PPP, reliable coordinates can be obtained easily. In agriculture, once the signal is interrupted, agricultural machinery will be unable to work, causing delays in harvesting and planting. SyncFrame Technology will perfectly solve this problem and seamlessly transition to PPP solution to ensure continuous operation of agricultural machinery. After the signal is restored, it will immediately switch to RTK solution to ensure that the optimal operation plan is always selected.
